Our countodown includes vehicles less than $100k, like the iconic Toyota Supra GR, and more.
Top 10 Fastest Cars You Can Actually Buy Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Fastest Cars You Can Actually Buy. For this list, we’ll be looking at the fastest cars in terms of top speeds, not 0-60 sprints - we’ll save those for another list. We’re also going to keep the price tag below the $100,000 mark. That means, the 190 mph top-speed Porsche Carerra S doesn’t make the cut. We want cars currently in showrooms. So, the mad Mustang GT500 that tops out at an incredible 195 mph doesn’t fly for this list either. Let us know in the comments if we missed one of your fave fastest cars, past or present!

#10: Nissan Z

0 0

Top Speed: 156 MPH (Limited) Nissan Z-Cars have been around since the late 1960s in North America, marketed under the Datsun name back then. And from their inception, the Nissan Zs have been a spiffy line of sports performance cars from the Japanese automaker. Known as the Fairlady Z in Japan, the Nissan Z might not be the quickest out there, but it definitely fits the bill when it comes to being one of the fastest cars you can actually buy, with a top speed of 155 mph (limited by its tires) and a base price of just $42,000. Oh, and if that wasn’t cool enough, this two-seater sportster can also be ordered with a 6-speed manual transmission - a unicorn in today’s automatic world.

#9: Toyota GR Supra

0 0

Top Speed: 161 MPH We all remember that classic scene in the original “Fast and Furious” movie when Brian provides Dom with a “10-second car” that’s basically a heap of junk on the back of a flatbed. Well, that heap was the elusive and at-the-time discontinued Toyota Supra. Fast forward a few decades and Toyota finally decided to bring the icon back. And bring it back they did, with a vengeance. The GR Supra boasts a 3.0L twin-scroll turbocharged engine that pushes out 382 ponies and 362 kb-ft of torque. Definitely the 10-second car Dom had hoped for, and it tops out at 161 mph.

#8: Porsche 718 Cayman

0 0

Top Speed: 170 MPH You know, when a vehicle is engineered and designed in Stuttgart on the mean streets of the autobahn with the Nurburgring not far away, there’s a good chance it’s going to be quick - really quick. And that’s definitely the case with the Porsche 718 Cayman. With a top speed of 170 mph, this German two-seater sports a potent mid-engine 2.0L flat-6 mill that produces an impressive 414 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Oh, and the best part? Besides its gorgeous exterior design and sound of that flat-6… It’s well under our $100k limit, coming in at just $69,950.

#7: BMW M2

Top Speed: 176 MPH Now, here’s a vehicle that’s an absolute speed demon. Perhaps it just feels uber quick because of its compact size, but the BMW M2 is definitely one of the fastest sedans out there. Equipped with a twin-turbo, inline-6 engine, the M2 produces a lovely (and powerful!) 453 horsepower and 407 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot of oomph for something in such a small package. This Beemer will top out at 176 mph, but we know for a fact that this thing never feels like it’s reaching any sort of limit.

#6: Audi RS5 Competition Coupe

0 0

Top Speed: 180 MPH If there’s one thing the Germans do best, it’s make fast cars. The Audi RS5 Competition Coupe, equipped with a guttural-sounding and ravenous 5.0L V8 engine, will hit a top speed of 180 mph. While you may only ever experience speed like this on the autobahn, it’s nice to know this Quattro-equipped, all-weather capable ride could do it - when asked nicely. This German beauty comes in at just under our price cap, at $78,600.

#5: Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

0 0

Top Speed: 190 MPH You might notice there’s a bit of a jump in top speed here. And that’s because the rides in the 290ish range are all well over $100,000 - oddly enough. So, coming in at the midway point, we find ourselves in Italy with the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. While the name seems complicated, the car is not. Straightforward and equipped with a 2.9L V6 engine that produces over 500 ponies and over 400 lb-ft of torque, this Ferrari-derived mill gets the Alfa to a top speed of 190 mph, with a pricetag of $91,450.

#4: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

0 0

Top Speed: 193 MPH We’re heading into the American portion of our top 10 countdown now, starting with the infamous and instantly recognizable Chevy Corvette Stingray. With one of the angriest looking exterior designs on the road today, the Vette demands respect on the tarmac. The quad-exhaust rear tailpipes bark for immediate attention, fueled by the 6.2L V8 mid-engine mill powering the Stingray to a staggering top speed of 193 mph. And at just $67,895, the Corvette is affordably fast.

#3: Chevrolet Camaro ZL1

0 0

Top Speed: 194 MPH Pushing that top speed just 1 mph faster than the 4th place Vette is a stallion from the same Chevy stables: the Camaro ZL1. Americans know how to put power under their vehicle’s hoods, and the Camaro is no exception. Rocking a supercharged V8 engine, this muscle car pushes out an insane 605 horsepower and features rear-wheel drive for the ultimate sports performance feel. And at just a few thousand more than the Stingray, it might be tough to choose between the two if you’re ever given the chance!

#2: Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing

0 0

Top Speed: 200 MPH With a name that sounds more like a fighter jet than a 4-door sedan, the Cadillac CT5-V is nonetheless very much a car. However, with a top speed of a staggering 200 mph it might just feel like you’re flying when you’re behind the wheel. Equipped with a potent 6.2L V8 engine, the Blackwing produces a hair-raising 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. This thing can BOOGIE. And guess what? It comes in under that $100k cap, but just barely - squeaking in at $94,890! Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: Jaguar F-Type R P575 It Not Only Looks Stunning on the Road, But It Tops Out at 186 MPH BMW M4 Competition It’s a Beast of a Coupe That All But Comes in at 2 mph shy of the M2’s Top Speed

#1: Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody

0 0

Top Speed: 203 MPH Sitting at the number one spot is another muscled American. And with a name that includes Hellcat, how could it not be?! The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody can reach a blistering top speed of 203 mph thanks to its uber powerful 6.2L supercharged V8 that produces close to 800 horsepower and over 700 lb-ft of torque. This thing is a beast in every sense of the word, and with a price tag well under our $100,000 cap, its position here is well-deserved to say the least!
