Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Best Anime Airing Right Now.

For this list, we’ll be looking at the must-watch series from the crowded Fall 2022 season.

Which of these shows are you enjoying the most? Let us know in the comments!

#10: “To Your Eternity” Season Two (2021-)

There was only a year between this show’s first and second season, but for Fushi, it was much, much longer. While his lengthy, self-imposed exile couldn’t have been very pleasant, it helped the series chart a bold new course for the next batch of episodes. At its core, “To Your Eternity” has always been about Fushi’s quest to understand humanity. But, by isolating him, the show can explore that community is just as easily lost as it is found. The original run stood out because it emphasized emotional character drama over flashy action sequences. Thankfully, the hook for this season continues that trend, and then some.

#9: “Bocchi the Rock!” (2022)

No matter what they say about Hitori’s musical prowess, she still manages to hit all the right notes with this slice of life. In fact, the socially awkward guitar player ends up with quite the following. The only catch is that it’s all anonymously online. No one knows she’s the one behind the bass, least of all the band she’s stumbled into. The charming hijinks set the stage for a delightfully low-stakes watch about friendship and personal growth. Oh, and the occasional head-banging song, too. In the end, it's more about characters than music, but the concert is still totally worth the price of admission.

#8: “Mob Psycho 100” Season Three (2016-)

After conquering crime syndicates, villainous espers, and girl trouble, Shigeo Kageyama now has to face the biggest threat of all - himself. The show has always understood that character comes before plot, and the third season is a beautiful reinforcement of that idea. Sure, there’s plenty of quirky villains and jaw-dropping animated spectacles. But, still, the show’s biggest strength continues to be watching an average middle schooler navigate less-than average situations. After all, it’s never been a question of if Mob can win, but rather how he’ll do it. Now that he’s grappling with his own future, the series’ power could easily reach 100% and beyond.

#7: “Golden Kamuy” Season Four (2018-)

Nothing beats a good, old-fashioned treasure hunt. Especially one with this many thrills. So far, the map has led the wartorn Sugimoto through plenty of heists, betrayals, shootouts, and more. It teeters on absurdity, but since it’s set against a historical Japan, the real-life parallels ensure it never becomes mindless. That’s a treasure in itself, but naturally, Sugimoto and his likable crew aren’t satisfied with that prize. So, they’ve continued their high-octane adventures into an even more self-assured fourth season. Though, at this point, the treasure just feels like an excuse for more fun action, and it’s hard to complain about that.

#6: “Blue Lock” (2022-)

Don’t let the jersey’s fool you, this is not your average soccer anime. Sure, Yoichi Isagi wants to be a pro, but he dribbles that dream all the way into a ruthless tryout for Japan’s national team. There, he realizes this is no ordinary tournament arc. Part sports anime, part dystopian thriller, and part battle royale, this series definitely scored a goal in the originality department. The fresh spin on sports tropes kicked the show off with plenty of flair - and then proceeded to prove that soccer is a real contact sport. With no timeouts or red cards to stop the fun, it’s clear this game is just getting started.

#5: “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury” (2022-)

There’s a lot of firsts in this installment of the long-running mecha franchise. It has the first female lead of a “Gundam” show, and the first return to TV screens at all since the last season back in 2015. But, despite its fresh ideas, there’s a classic charm to its storylines that feel distinctly “Mobile Suit.” The themes of greed and evolution are baked into the series’ DNA. “Mercury” has plenty of that, but the advent of modern technology both in and out of universe makes its commentary more relevant than ever. It’s a “Gundam” season like none other, but one that still feels remarkably at home at the same time.

#4: “Spy × Family” (2022-)

No, this isn’t a drill, Anya Forager is finally back. But, now that the table has been set, this undercover trio can sit down for a hilariously thrilling family dinner. The second half of the season is funnier, cooler, and more heartfelt than ever before. Which, given how strong the earlier episodes were, that’s saying something. Then, as if the show couldn’t be any cuter, they even added a dog to the main cast. With the benefit of a stellar first cour, “Spy × Family” continues its operation with a confidence that few freshman series have. At this point, its fame basically speaks for itself.

#3: “My Hero Academia” Season Six (2016-)

It’s official: class is out of session. There’s no time for filler, schoolwork, or hesitation, anymore. The war with the Paranormal Liberation Front has begun, and both the show and its heroes are firing on all cylinders. This is the arc the show has been building to for years, and it totally lives up to the hype with all the epic music and flashy animation that “My Hero” does best. The war framework delivers some amazing action sequences, and even lets underutilized characters like Kaminari finally get their due. If the opening episodes are any indication, this is definitely the season to catch up for. Honestly, it’s worth checking out just to see Mirko kick some tail.

#2: “Chainsaw Man” (2022-)

This title pretty much sums it up. It’s about a man, who can turn his body parts into chainsaws. Oh, and there’s plenty of blood, devils, and humor, too. Though, you probably don’t need to hear that from us. In the crowded anime landscape, not even veteran titles can rev up as much hype as this show did with its trailer alone. Its ultra-violence and comedic edge has sawed through any and all expectations. It helps that there’s a clear care put into the adaptation, like the different ending themes for each and every episode. It just goes to show that even those behind the scenes realize “Chainsaw Man” is a bonafide sensation.

#1: “Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War” (2004-12; 2022-)

After a decade off the air, Ichigo and the others made a downright smashing return to the anime scene. Yep, “Bleach” is officially back, and it’s never been better. The stellar direction and fantastic animation promises to do the final arc of the story justice. Which is important, since it’s full of twists, intrigue, and action that fans have been waiting literal years to see animated. Suffice it to say, it totally lives up to the hype. Ichigo’s grand entrance alone is cool enough to convince any naysayers. But, this is way more than just nostalgia, it’s a chance for “Bleach” to finally get the respect it deserves.
